Remote Light, Inc. has quietly spent the first part of the new millennium patenting its socially responsible global portfolio of ultraviolet (UV) lighting technologies for drinking water, wastewater, other fluids, air, medical, appliance and surface applications. It has also patented the convergence of visible light and infrared light for both illumination and voice and data communication. Remote Light owns or controls more than 120 US and international granted patents, applications, and exclusive patent licenses combining optics with fiber optics and UV light for a broad range of purification and disinfection applications. These applications address global warming and other environmental conditions impeding human health and economic growth throughout the world. 

The current patent portfolio describes technologies for generating and delivering UV radiation at high efficiencies and with reduced power and costs, compared with alternative electronic and photon-based solutions.   

Remote Light has initiated a focused intellectual property (IP) licensing program, based on developing and closing opportunities with willing licensees who see the value in acquiring RLI’s IP and know-how.  Drinking water, wastewater, and air purification and disinfection are by far the largest markets for RLI’s IP licensing program.  China and India may soon overtake the US as the largest global polluters and Remote Light has been granted patents and pending applications in both countries for its air and fluid technologies. 

Consequently, through Remote Light’s photon, rather than electron, based technologies, it controls technology that can move it to the forefront in addressing global warming and other environmental conditions that are demanding better solutions near-term and hold both the promise of improving the human condition and supporting environmentally safe economic growth.  There is nothing faster than the speed of light!
